A collection of 57 images showing the context of the Western Breach in relation to
other known landmarks.
Several of these images were taken in July of 2005, just 5 months before the tragic
collapse of the residual glacial deposit that killed three climbers at 5,245m, halfway
up the face of the Western Breach.
We were tasked with investigating some alternate route options, and aspects of these
alternatives are featured here for interest only, and do not constitute any part
of the current ‘official’ route. These images are predominantly of the right hand
side of the Stone Train, an area which is not to be used.
